Another Milestone For These Two...

Twas long ago and far away when Julie and Mark
exchanged their "I do's."  Back then (1970) our population was
a mere 200 million, petrol was a paltry 36 cents a gallon, and you
could buy a first-class stamp for 6 cents and a brand new AMC Gremlin
for just $1879 (not that anyone in his right mind did so -- AMC was
doomed and closed its operations for good in 1987).
Through all the years and all the changes in the world, Julie and
Mark have remained committed and constant to each other.
And while more than half of the marriages in this country
sooner or later go the way of the Gremlin, the best ones
keep motoring on.

Here's to you both on your Big Day!

HB, Jason!

Jason (with his carry-on bag) and Mira

The Hackfester Insider has learned that Birthday Boy is so amped up
about  his impending journey to Italy (9 days and counting!) that he
has taken to pacing about the house with his carry-on luggage slung
over his shoulder (as seen above in this exclusive Hidden HFster
Cam shot) in order to "get used to it."

Additionally, we've been informed by trusted sources that he has
already completely packed (and repacked) his bags
and is apparently "greatly looking forward" to getting to
the airport and having every last one of them "shrink-wrapped" in
plastic to ensure that nothing falls out along the way and that nobody
messes with his personal stuff.  Good plan!

J's luggage: packed and stacked by the front door.

Baggage-Wrapper Technician at Metro Airport.  Says he's prepared to wrap
"every last one" of J's bags. Also says he picks up chicks at bars by claiming
to be a well-known "Wrapper."

All the Best on your Big Day, JaSON!

HB, Marcus J!

The dashing Birthday Boy and the smashing Char, cutting a rug at the Marion-Franz

moment this photo was taken.  Click right...

All the Best on your Big Day, Marcus!  And congratulations for your timing
on becoming perfectly age-appropriate for grandfatherhood** well in advance
of that very special event.

When it rains, it pours...

Congratulazioni to Mira and Jason  - it's off to Tuscany to be wed in mid-April.
Their wedding will closely follow that of Amira and Pierre (see just below) who
make their vows in Paris on April 7th.

This is wonderful news times two, and we're thrilled for these two young couples
who, in this very tough economy, clearly understand the importance of being
married in a place that can also double as the honeymoon site.

toaster ovens....

HB, Annie...!

Detroit, 1989 - Annie, the center of attention, with her adoring cousins, their trainer, AND
(look closely) a guest appearance by young and waifish MMM.

Ahhh yes, another year has elbowed its way by. Time to
take stock and celebrate the new one that has snuck up
and taken its place. It's also time to hope that there's
far more enjoy than annoy in this day for The
Birthday Girl. As a transplant from Northern
California now living in deepest, darkest Iowa, she
needs and deserves very special treatment today.

All the Best all day (and night) long, Annie!

THIS better not happen again this year...!

Christmas 2010

Even the poinsettias were feeling blue, stuck in a hospital for the
holidays.  Fortunately, Julie survived the ignominy of having to
wear an immodest gown with flimsy rear-closure and the uncertainty
being in the clutches of a mysterious infection whose timing
 could not have been worse....

As for 2011?  Keep your fingers crossed, one and all!

City Slickers III? You be the judge...

November 2011, Moab, Utah - Julie, Mark, Jason

Have a ball, Julie! After all, it's your birthday...

Detroit, circa 1948

Young Julie practices her dribbling (note spittle coursing down
her chin onto her soggy shirtfront), as she practices her, well, dribbling
 in this vintage scene.

All these years later, she can still dribble with the best of them --
which is why she is never without her hanky.

All the Best on Your Big Day, Julie!
