One Century Old.
photo circa 1922, Detroit, Michigan
Martha Mary (O'Brien) Marion, born on this day in 1911.
Impossible to believe that so much time has passed, looking
at this sweet, young, long-maned lass, dressed for what? Her
Confirmation? Easter? Her birthday?!
Some such special occasion, in any case, with those shoes
and the flowered hair band. Not exactly the most picturesque
background -- could be the garage behind the house at 1158 Putnam
(long since torn down to make way for Wayne State's expansion).
Maybe it was selected on purpose for contrast? If so, it worked.
