Yes...unlike LeBron James, some athletes know how to rise to the occasion. The Gray Fox was decidedly one of those players. He was a victim of Alzheimer's and just 71 at his death. For any and all Tigers' fans from his era, Jim Northrup's name will always conjure up the image of a champion.
